Types of NEET Counselling 2025

All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling

Conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), AIQ counseling covers:

  • 15% of government medical college seats across all states (excluding Jammu and Kashmir).
  • 100% of seats in Central Universities (like AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU), Deemed Universities, and ESIC medical colleges.
  • BSc Nursing seats.

Who can apply? Any NEET-qualified student from anywhere in India is eligible.

State Quota Counselling

Managed by individual state governments, this counseling is for:

  • 85% of government medical and dental seats within that specific state.
  • 100% of private college seats within the state.

Who can apply? Students who meet the state’s eligibility criteria (e.g., domicile or residency requirements). Each state releases its own notification, schedule, and application form, so you’ll need to apply directly on the relevant state counseling website. While similar to MCC counseling, state-specific rules for reservations and document verification may apply.

AYUSH Counselling

This counseling, conducted by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC), is for students interested in:

  • AYUSH courses such as BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), BUMS (Unani), and BSMS (Siddha).

Who can apply? NEET scores are essential for these admissions. You’ll need to register separately on the AACCC website. The counseling process mirrors that of MBBS and BDS admissions.
